Candy Valentino's journey began growing up in a trailer in a small town. Born into poverty and on government assistance, her parents were just teenagers when she was born. Unable to afford childcare, Candy went to her father’s small auto repair shop after school. Seeing her dad struggle firsthand motivated her to seek opportunities.
Immediately after high school, Candy Valentino realized college was going to take too long, so she applied for an SBA loan and started a brick-and-mortar wellness spa before they were popular. It took off. She grew and scaled the company, got into product manufacturing, and started other businesses -- all while investing in real estate. With that success, she wanted to give back --and founded a nonprofit, HEAL Animal Rescue.
At age 26, Candy Valentino bought and donated a building to an organization that has gone on to save thousands of animals. She has been actively involved for more than 16 years, personally raising millions. A victim of childhood abuse herself, Candy Valentino developed programs to help underprivileged, fostered, or abused children by providing hope and healing to end the abuse cycle. She knows firsthand that success, financial or otherwise, is only possible when we have hope.
During her two-and-a-half decades as an entrepreneur, she has been named to Top Business Leaders 40 Under 40, Top 50 Women In Business, 10 People Making a Difference, Top 10 Business Consultants by Yahoo Finance, and was the youngest female to receive the Governor’s Award in Entrepreneurship in Pennsylvania.
